If there is heavy traffic over the Brenner Pass, we recommend the route via the Timmelsjoch.

Timmelsjoch Route:
Coming from Germany, take the A8 south towards Rosenheim. At the Inntaldreieck interchange, change to the A93 towards Kufstein/Innsbruck. After the Austrian border, the A93 becomes the A12 (Inntalautobahn). Follow the A12 to the Ötztal exit. Leave the highway at the Ötztal exit and take the B186 south towards Sölden. In Sölden, follow the signs for the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road. This road is open from May to October and takes you over the Alps to the Italian border. After crossing the Timmelsjoch, drive downhill into the Passeier Valley. Follow the SS44 towards St. Leonhard in Passeier.

Jaufenpass Route:
Coming from Germany via the Brenner highway, take the STERZING exit. At Sterzing, take the Jaufenpass (2,100m), which is always passable in spring, summer and autumn, and in winter from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For information regarding passability in winter, please call us. If you don’t like driving over passes, stay on the Brenner highway until you reach BOZEN SÜD, where you leave the highway and take the MeBo expressway (Bozen-Meran). Leave this at the MERAN SÜD exit and follow the signs to Jaufenpass/Timmelsjoch/Passeiertal.

Coming from Switzerland, take the state road through the Vinschgau or from Bolzano on the MeBo expressway to Merano. Take the MERAN SÜD exit and then follow the signs in the direction of Jaufenpass/Timmelsjoch/Passeiertal.

Upon arrival, you can safely park your vehicle in the chalet’s garage. Each apartment has a free garage parking space available. And if you are a nature lover, then your car will also enjoy a vacation during your break, because you can start your impressive discovery tours right outside our front door.

The trains of DB, ÖBB and Trenitalia stop at Bolzano station, where you can easily change to modern regional trains and travel past orchards and idyllic villages to Merano.

Once you arrive at Merano station, we will be waiting for you in our hotel shuttle and take you to St. Leonhard, which is about 30 minutes away. Of course, this free service also applies to the return journey. Please let us know your arrival time in advance to reserve the shuttle service. We are also happy to offer you our transfer to and from the train station in Bolzano (surcharge: €50.00 per trip).
